AGEA is glad to announce the call for registrations and submissions of business ideas for the 2022 AGEA Business Idea Competition.

The Business Idea Competition 2022 is a platform to unearth and support innovative business start-up ideas developed from academic/scientific research conducted at African universities and research institutions. This is an opportunity for academia and scientific staff in African higher education institutions to express their entrepreneurial abilities and test the business potential in their research results.  

We invite participation from academic staff (lecturers, professors), researchers, and students (Masters/PhD) at African universities and research institutions to participate in the competition. Participants can be individuals or teams of up to six. University alumni can participate as entrepreneurs in a team with academic/scientific members and/or students.

Successful participants can win the top prize worth €1,000 and receive training and coaching support from experts to develop their business idea into a sustainable business start-up.

The registration and submission portals are open from 1 June 2022 until 15 July 2022.
